Gilan was founded in 1980, in Istanbul, by brothers Muharrem and Ferhan Gilan, following the design footsteps of their great great great grandmother, head seamstress for the Ottoman Court who created customized dresses for Pashas. The brothers have infused into Gilan their hereditary passion for design and luxury.

Named after the town where the brothers' ancestors were born, Gilan was founded in 1980. The first store was opened in the Akmerkez shopping center in Istanbul. From then on, Muharrem and Ferhan Gilan, pioneers of luxury, never looked back until they became the number one name in Haute Jewellery in Turkey.
