1986 Erkom founded as a foreign trade company, in it’s early years dealt in exports to Middle Eastern countries, mainly Iraq, Syria and Jordan, in the following fields: For the plastics, chemicals and petrochemicals industries; raw materials, finished and semi-finished products, injection machinery and molds, For the printing and packaging industries; paper, cardboard, ink and printing house consumables, packaging for food products, For the automotive industries; automobile and truck spare parts, components and accessories. 1990 With the changing economic environment, Erkom, besides the Middle East, started to export textiles and ready-to-wear goods such as, undergarments and socks to Israel and West European countries. The company also continued to engage in the sales of paper, carboard and adhesives used in the packaging industry, as well as printing house ink used in plastic printing in Turkey, on a representative and consultant basis. 1991 Upon the decision to go into the sports market, Erkom became the distributor in Turkey of Yonex, the Japanese brand for tennis and badminton products, Tretorn, the Swedish brand for tennis balls, and Dynamic, the French brand for skis, importing and selling these products both in Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Within the same year, Erkom also became the representative of two Swiss companies, Orell Füssli, creative designer and printer of banknotes, valuable paper and documents as well as plastic cards, followed by the plastic card manufacturer Cardag, thus becoming a supplier to the banking sector for Visa, MasterCard and bank cards. Present Erkom is still marketing, selling and distributing the products of the companies that it represents in Turkey, and continues exporting through its sister company, Eron.
