The Else Group took its first step in the textile sector with Else Textile Inc., which began production in 1996 with an open end yarn facility. In 2003, it established the ring yarn plant and secured its position in this challenging and ever-changing sector. Their investment in the textile sector expanded with the establishment of a knitted fabric facility and a yarn dying plant in 2007. A co-generation system was established in 2004 in order to meet Else Textile’s electric and steam power needs and to minimize problems and downtime stemming from electrical surges. The facility consists of 2 gas turbines with a 5MW capacity. The resulting hot water and 3 tons per hour of steam are used in the yarn-dying plant. To help protect the environment, we use stack gas treatment systems on the cutting-edge of technology. By using high-quality and uninterrupted energy, Else Textile goes one step further in its principle of unconditional customer satisfaction. The first phase of its new international investment strategy—a cotton yarn and woven fabric manufacturing facility, including a cotton ginnery with an area of 60,000 square meters—was built on a 120,000 square meter indoor area in a 200,000 square meter site in Nazareth (Adama), Ethiopia. Construction of the facility began in 2009, with production starting in March 2011. Also , Cotton Gin Factory, built by ELSE Construction, has been operating since October 2011. Since established, it has been producing 150.000 ton unginned cotton per day by means of modern Rollergin System which provides low percentage Neps at top quality.
